A hopefully up-to-date page outlining a bunch of the things taking my time and thoughts over this quarter is is currently manually created from my quarterly/annual plans, with latest, current at the top.

2026/03 - 2026/06

End of an era:

  • Meesh's grandad passed away end Feb, and she's executor of will, so lots of learnings around dealing with funerals and estates and other heavy stuff.
  • Big energy heating and backup power core hardware largely done now, still wiring, sensors, software and tidying etc.

So hopefully the end to a particularly challenging and unpleasant 6 - 18 months

Spring stuff:

  • compost, trim hedges, weed/turnover/plant any beds
  • clean windows, gutters, roof
  • do any tree stuff

Try and get order restored after chaotic year start:

  • pickup good routines again (particularly exercise, sleep and task management.)
  • throw out old stuff and integrate inherited stuff

Finish paths:

  • get last flags down
  • dig and line path round outside of garden
  • gather up all mulch and wood chips and redistribute

  • get back to writing/updating more
  • actually get fedify/staging onto prod
  • rerun jobs to build oracle edge stuff on ARM

Soon/next

house stuff:

  • gable end insulation, still
  • garage, now no trades in there for a while, workbench, attic boxing etc.
  • decide details for Big energy plan 2, PV and EV.

2025/10/01 - 2026/02/01

Big energy heating chaos.

  • main installer went AWOL after 3 months of work on something that was quoted "5 days at start of Sept"
  • working with Viessmann to try get everything finished and working.

Big energy electricity chaos.

  • house battery expansion in, autochangeover didn't work as promised ("instantaneous")
  • alternative solution of plugin UPS to handle changeover proposed

Install some PV panels myself.

Also upgraded phones (Pixel 9A for Meesh and Fairphone 6 for me)

All paths nearly done now:

  • last 2 flag remaining on path round outside
  • weed sheets down and for remaining garden paths

Soon, birthday & bankholiday seasons, so productivity slows.

Spring seasonal stuff: compost, hedges, weeding,

Garage:

  • purge junk (skip) and make usable now 95% of heating'/energy stuff is in there.

2025/07/01 - 2025/10/01

Stain the decking

Big-energy:

  • heatpump and solar thermal to be installed in Sept 2025
    • also looking to maybe slip a few pv panels on garage
    • and also need to get a computer in the garage to speak directly to inverter
  • insulating gable end wall (probably slightly late)

  • trying to get 1dom.fun markdown x activity pub (with fedify) live at 1dom.fun
  • looking to get just current markdown notes + ability to receive and serve over activitypub as @itsdom@1dom.fun

Big-energy:

  • installing an extra battery or 2 and switching tariffs
  • sort out heating automation, Viessman, HomeAssistant, TRVs etc.
